ZERO-LASH MEASUREMENTS

Enter the checking-pushrod length where vertical lash is just removed. Do not add preload to the measurement first.

MEASUREMENT TOOL

A checking pushrod is required to establish the zero-lash length used by the calculator.

MEASURE FIRST

Pushrod length changes with the actual block, heads, gasket, valve job, cam base circle, lifter and rocker combination. Presets are starting ranges—not permission to skip measuring or the lifter manufacturer’s instructions.

Preset references: Johnson 2110/2110R .035 ± .010 in; Delphi/GM LS7-style .050–.100 in; Chevrolet Performance 88958689 “Caddy” race lifter .050–.100 in.
