CAM TIMING

Index it before the phaser bolt is torqued

Align the crank and phaser timing marks before final assembly.

At the specified installation position, the crank-sprocket timing mark points upward and the cam-phaser timing mark points downward toward it. Verify the marks and make sure the phaser is fully seated before installing the new bolt.

TIMING-DRIVE OPTIONS

For a stock / N/A combination, the original OEM chain can typically be reused when it is in good condition. Higher-performance combinations can justify stronger timing-drive hardware.

DO NOT

Use the new torque-to-yield phaser bolt to drag an unseated phaser into position.
